Sarcasm aside, I am delighted to see that ESPN is actually featuring some games during prime viewing by a college football division that actually gets it.
Be sure to tune into the FCS playoff games; they are great to watch, teams are usually very evenly matched and whoever wins moves one step closer to a legitimate national championship game. (By the way, GO BISON!)
Meanwhile, the BCS will feature a rematch of LSU and Alabama. Here's some advice for both teams.
To LSU:
- Don't feel too much pressure to win this game. Even if you lose you still have a better case for the national championship, based on probability, statistics, algorithms and percentages.
- Don't be distracted by the big stage or how you are being exploited by a system of institutionalized greed that perverts the very idea of higher education. Okay?
- Continue to live by the philosophy that if you first don't succeed,
try, try againtake advantage of a system that overwhelmingly favors your conference. - Also, attempt to redeem the annual BCS mess by losing by fewer points than Oklahoma State would have.
